MnWE Jazz and Poetry Happy Hour, Friday 4pm, Bluffs Lounge, Krysko Commons
When Friday’s panels end at 4pm, return to Bluffs Lounge, the Friday lunch site, for the first ever MnWE Jazz and Poetry Happy Hour featuring the Winona State Jazz Ensemble and readings by WSU’s Satori Literary Journal staff. Come for 60-minutes of alternating jazz and poetry. Stay for the pre-dinner chocolate chip cookies. We’ll close happy hour just before 5pm with a reading from Winona State’s own creative writing faculty, Dr. Geoff Peck, who will read from his new novel City of Clans, released by University of Iowa Press in 2025.
Geoff Peck is the author of City of Clans, a coming-of-age novel set during the 2009 G20 protests in Pittsburgh.
His fiction, poetry, and creative nonfiction have appeared in over thirty journals, and he was nominated for
Best New American Poets after winning the Thomas McGrath Prize from the Academy of American Poets.
He teaches creative writing at Winona State University.
